I enjoyed the 2011 Edicion Regional Portugal Punch Descobridores so much that I decided to reach for another vitola from the marca. This specific cigar was gifted to me by a great BOTL over the holidays. Thanks in advance my brother….
Let’s see how it is progressing…..
The 2007 Punch Petit Punch is a diminutive cigar. It is a Perlas vitola that comes in at a 40 ring gauge and is 4 inches in length. These were available in a variety of formats however, the last format that was available before it was discontinued was 25 count dress boxes. It was discontinued in 2009.

The wrapper is a rich, deep chocolate hue of brown. Fairly bumpy throughout the cigar. Aromas of hard candy, honey, leather and cocoa emanate from the wrapper.
Construction is good. Fairly packed with a few hard spots. Hope this doesn’t lead to draw issues. The triple cap looks decent and the foot is packed.
A quick twist from my punch and we are ready for ignition.
The draw is firm. A little too restricted for my liking….
Initial flavours from the cold draw are floral notes, leather, earth and a touch of bing cherries….
Time to take this to the flame…..
What a beautiful start. Citrus, floral notes, earth, cocoa and a touch of honey and leather to start off our adventure. Very lush and vibrant yet, well integrated. Delicate and soft in nature. Well put together. Strength is at a medium level.
The draw and burn are perfect. Great amount of smoke production and the ash is a ‘Dirty’ greyish white.
The retrohale brings citrus, floral notes, earth and cocoa. Very vibrant and smooth as it moves through the nasal passages.
The after finish is lovely. So much depth of flavours to this little cigar. Wonderfully complex and smooth. No harshness to speak of. The strength really allows the flavours to gently coat the palate and provide excellent staying power.
Citrus, earth and leather to start, followed by floral notes, cocoa and honey. So wickedly delicious. It saddens me that I have just discovered this cigar and the fact that it is discontinued. The positive news is that it is better to experience once than never to have experienced…..
This is just performing exceptionally well. Wonderful layers of citrus, floral notes, leather, cocoa and earth are combining nicely to form a very complex and refined flavour profile. Strength continues to be at a medium level.
The retrohale brings a beautiful trio of citrus, floral notes and earth as it gently moves through the nasal passages.
The after finish just dances on my palate with the artistry of a world class ballet dancer. Poised, focused yet elegant and graceful. Citrus, earth and cocoa come forward to start, followed by floral notes and leather. The strength brings them all together for a lasting impression on the palate. Seamlessly smooth with no harshness to speak of. Brings a smile to my face as i smoke it……
This cigar has me mesmerized. Such lush, vibrant flavours that collectively bring a wonderfully complex and refined flavour profile. The strength continues to be at a medium level.
The retrohale brings cocoa, citrus and a touch of floral notes as it moves with precision through the nasal passages.
The after finish brings luscious layers cocoa, earth and citrus, followed by floral notes and leather. Just a delight to smoke. Everything is awesome as my son would say. Seamless, smooth, vibrant and elegant. A wonderful smoking experience…..
It is a shame that these are discontinued. Such a precious, vibrant and complex cigar. Impressive considering its size. Excellent balance between strength and flavours as well as depth of flavours. Very precise individually and collectively, it comes together effortlessly. A treasure if you can find them. Thanks to the great BOTL who shared this with me over the holidays. A great smoking experience…..
