A change in direction….

Over the past couple of months, my brother and I have been making a more concerted effort in exploring the world of scotch.  I have always enjoyed having a nice single malt with a good cigar, however, the two were more intertwined versus mutually exclusive.

When my brother started to show an interest in scotch, it opened up new possibilities.  Having the opportunity to share experiences with my brother was something I could not pass up and the adventures would be humorous at the very least.

We have started to purchase bottles together and are learning together.  I never really studied the different regions of Scotland and never knew the joy that is Japanese whisky.   It’s been fun figuring out what we both like/dislike and talking about a scotch as we enjoy it together.  Some scotches we are aligned on.  Others not.  The discovery, conversation and time with my brother makes it special.  It has been a fun eye opener so far.  Having a passion that we can enjoy together is something I never expected however, am very thankful that we get to take this adventure together.

So, what does this all mean, in terms of this blog?  I’ve been toying with the idea of either expanding the range of topics of my blog by adding scotch/spirits reviews or starting a separate blog strictly for spirit reviews.  After much deliberation and weighing the pros and cons, I decided to keep everything under one roof.  At the end of the day, it’s about the experience, regardless of how it come about.

At times, there will be an individual scotch/spirit review.  Other times, it may be part of an overall cigar review.  Maybe a cameo by my brother if he wants to write something or a joint review by the two of us.  (I will warn everyone in advance that the more scotch we drink, the funnier we are…LOL)  No hard or fast rules.  More driven on how I feel at the time.

Will I still review cigars?  Yes, however, the beauty of a blog is the opportunity to share experiences with others.  Having the opportunity to share a common passion with my brother makes the experience that much more rewarding…

Sincerely,

A
